Checkups & Cleanings

Ultrasonic Scaling 

Gum disease can be serious, but with our ultrasonic scaling technology we can effectively clean your teeth and reduce your chance of gingivitis and gum disease. The ultrasonic scaler works by using low-frequency sound waves. It vibrates against your teeth to remove plaque and bacteria, all while delivering an antibacterial rinse below the gumline.

We use ultrasonic scalers at all of our dental cleanings. They are much more efficient and gentler on the teeth than the metal tool historically used by dentists. With an ultrasonic scaler, debris and surface stains accumulated over months can be swept away in mere seconds.

Bruxism Appliances 

Bruxism, or teeth grinding, is a condition that has been documented going back centuries. In chronic cases of bruxism, patients may experience a wide range of unpleasant symptoms, which can include:

• Tooth wear
• Muscular pain
• Migraines
• Difficulty chewing or opening mouth

In order to help mitigate some of the issues caused by bruxism, our office is equipped to select and provide you with a custom night guard for your mouth. The appliance, which could be hard or soft, fits over your teeth to place them in a relaxed position. Any wear or tear is then incurred by the appliance, rather than your teeth, which prevents future damage.
